Every American has been robbed at the pump. You put in your gold card and it came out leaded ! Some even had their platinum turned to lead.
And then we had to go the market for bread 'n milk. Well, trying to pay for bread 'n milk with lead - gets you nowhere fast.
Goodbye Saturday night out. Goodbye saying goodbye to the workweek on Friday (- if you're lucky enough to find a second/third job). Goodbye new stuff for the kids for the new school year.
And that's on top of having already said goodbye to saving for our future and the future for the kids.
And to cap it off - the "spoils" of this highway robbery went abroad! And the dollar is being destroyed and America is being weakened and our security is threatened. Yes , all that from depending on foreign oil and foreign oil monopoly and cartels.
I will change it. I will end it. And I need your help. This is a campaign. Every campaign is a slog. Soldier on with me.
I will drill for oil and gas in America. I will replace foreign oil with American oil.
I will have American industry develop to market alternate energy sources . We will financially reward those who are winners in this development to market.
We will not rest until foreign oil becomes again and remains - foreign oil.
And the added benefit is that foreign oil regions will no longer be areas of concern for us. America will be of renewed concern for us. And we'll keep the peace - our own peace - at home !
But it'll take time and money. So, how do you get time and money?
We get time: by starting now; by being patient; by stickin' to it.
And we don't walk off the field, because we've been pushed to our own 5 yard line. I'm your coach - I'm sending in a new play. Huddle, huzza, here goes.
And, yeah, money. You bet it takes money. How in the world do we get the money?
I told you that I wouldn't tax you. I mean it.
But, I didn't tell you that you wouldn't have to 'take your medicine.'
So, I'm going to do something that no other politician has done with you.
'Mother McCain' is gonna make you a saver, an investor, someone who has invested wisely for the future - yours , your kids and America's.
Any and all government investments in creating renewable and domestic energy and it's infrastructure will only be done with your money - borrowed from you !! Not taxed from you !!
The American public will have a direct stake in the economic benefits of freedom from foreign oil. All money raised from you, the American public will be your saving and earn interest on that savings; and/or that money will be an investment and be entitled to a share of its profits !!
